We had the honor of interviewing a strong father that is a part of the Black Fathers Exist community! We would like to introduce you to Tyrone Hibbler, a Father of 3.
BFE: What makes you proud to be a father? Every aspect of fatherhood. I live for this. I’m not perfect, but putting one foot in front of the other while I strive to create a safe, loving environment for my girls is my responsibility. Being their Dad is what makes me proud.
BFE: What message do you want the world to know about Black Fatherhood? We are present. We are leaders and influencers. We do and we try. We don’t give up. With everything we have we love our children.
BFE: How many children do you have and how old are they? I have three princesses. 13, 11, and 12 days old
BFE: As we promote Black Excellence in our community what would be the number one piece of advice that you would give your children in order for them to live up to that? No one defines you or places a ceiling on your potential but you. Live life unapologetically while aggressively pursuing each and every one of your passions and dreams. It’s not you can do it. It’s you WILL do it.
BFE: Being a great father begins with self-improvement. What area of your life are you currently working on to be a better father? Being honest with myself and everyone around me. Letting down guards that protect transparency. My health. Modeling the way so they have a path to start on.
BFE: Lastly, what words of encouragement do you have for Black Fathers in America? Persevere. Forgive. Presence. Motivate. Influence. Repetition. You have already won. Look around you. Look at those looking up to you. Life is pure. Don’t make it more than that. I’m proud of each and every one of you. Go be excellent. Go be present!
Tyrone, thank you for sharing your thoughts on Black Fatherhood with us today! Your words are powerful. BFE family, feel free to follow this brother on Instagram here: @T_hibb
