We had the honor of interviewing a strong father that is a part of the Black Fathers Exist community! We would like to introduce you to Antonio Boyd, a Father of 2.
What makes you proud to be a father?
Being able to set the right example, and groom my boys to be great men to do their part to lead their generation. I'm super proud to be their Father, and it makes me become a better Man.
What message do you want the world to know about Black Fatherhood?
It's very unique in America. Our leadership needs to be solid, our guidance sound and clear, and have the ability to make a great living to have every opportunity to invest in their futures. The latter proves to be difficult for a lot of us Black Fathers, but our kids light a flame so big no one can extinguish it.
How many children do you have and how old are they?
2 Boys. Ages 5 & 3
As we promote Black Excellence in our community what would be the number one piece of advice that you would give your children in order for them to live up to that?
"Do the best you can to be Better, Stronger, & Smarter Everyday. Never Give Up."
Being a great father begins with self-improvement. What area of your life are you currently working on to be a better father?
Setting goals, visualizing my future, and listening to the God inside me to be my guide in achieving them. I teach my boys on how to do the same..
What words of encouragement do you have for Black Fathers in America?
As for my fellow Black Kings; You have a very serious role in the success of all of our kid's lives. My boys will value your opinion and direction just because you carry the same Melanin in your genes. So please recognize your True Greatness, and live up to your sky-high potential. Don't let life's circumstances derail you from being who you truly are put on this Earth to be. Be an inspiration to all that will listen, and an example for others to follow. Go Be Great!
